In twenty years, Macy Gray has become one of the major figures of contemporary soul. Her unique voice and diverse influences, the most striking being that of her idol Billie Holiday, have made her an unclassifiable artist whose repertoire ranges from soul to jazz, urban sound and a few rock forays.
Macy Gray has come a long way since she made a name for herself at the Transmusicales in Rennes in 1999 with her single “I Try”, from her debut album On How Life Is, which won a Grammy Award in 2001.
Macy has released ten studio albums, the last of which, Ruby, was unanimously acclaimed by critics at the end of 2018.
But it is in concert that Macy gives the best of herself, revealing a powerful vocal presence and an extraordinary personality.
She will be on stage at Le Bataclan in Paris on 24 June 2021.
