La Route du Rock Booking presents:
Peter Hook is one of the key players in the history of post-punk, new-wave and the emergence of electronic music in Great Britain in the late 70’s and early 80’s through the mythical bands JOY DIVISION and NEW ORDER, of which he was a musician and composer (bass player with an incomparable style) and founding member. He was also co-manager of The Hacienda, the mythical Manchester club at the origin of the surge of electronic music in Europe, which welcomed Detroit’s pioneers as well as the young Frenchy Laurent Garnier. It was also he who took over the production of part of the Factory label’s stable (Stone Roses, Happy Mondays, Durutti Column, A Certain Ratio…).
40 years after the death of Ian Curtis, the emblematic singer and lyricist of JOY DIVISION, Peter Hook & The Lights pay tribute to him through an exceptional French tour “Joy Division: A Celebration” in which the band will perform the albums “Unknown pleasures” and “Closer” in their entirety.
