ALI AMRAN

Although his roots lie in his native Kabylia, Ali Amran distils a skilful blend of genres that makes his music so original. Singing and playing acoustic guitar, he adopts a stripped-down, unadorned style.
His lyrical songs, like his melodic sense, convey the soul of a culture that is all too often muzzled; his compositions, meanwhile, borrow their rhythm from the world of folk rock, with accents that are sometimes blues and sometimes pop.
The result is a very special harmony, just like her voice, with its soft, deep timbre.
