À propos

Dedicated to the memory of legendary founding guitarist Brian James, The Damned have announced a cover album, 'Not Live Everybody Else', and will be in concert at Le Bataclan in Paris on 1 February, with a set consisting exclusively of covers.

The Damned, formed in 1976, were pioneers of the London punk scene, propelled to the forefront of the Goth-Rock genre by their blend of dark lyrics and Dave Vanian's baritone vocals. The band sparked the revolution with the release of the first British punk single, 'New Rose', and the album 'Damned, Damned, Damned'. Brian James wrote the first single and was the main songwriter on the album. He left the band after the release of their second album, 'Music For Pleasure', in 1977.

The Damned announce the release of 'Not Like Everybody Else', a deeply personal and celebratory covers album dedicated to the memory of Brian James, the band's legendary founding guitarist, who died on 6 March 2025. Recorded over five intense days, rich in emotion and creativity, at Revolver Studio in Los Angeles, this album sees The Damned - Dave Vanian on vocals, Captain Sensible on guitar, Rat Scabies on drums, Paul Gray on bass, joined by long-time keyboardist Monty Oxymoron - reconnect with the raw energy that started it all. 'Not Like Everybody Else' marks Rat Scabies' return to the studio with the band for the first time in 40 years.
