FLOGGING MOLLY

27 August 2024 - 05:30 pm

The team's view

Ireland, the UK and Boston may be the hotbeds of Celtic rock, but Los Angeles also has something to say about it. That's where Flogging Molly come from, with a 25-year career in the genre and worldwide tours to spread the word: sea shanties and tavern songs set to saturated guitars. Their latest album, 'Anthem', is one of their best yet, so it's a great chance to see them perform it at Le Bataclan on 27 August 2024.

About

Celtic punk band Flogging Molly have announced a Paris gig at Le Bataclan on 27 August 2024.

Having started out as the house band at the Molly Malone Irish pub in Los Angeles and built up a loyal fanbase through endless touring, Flogging Molly have been a staple of the punk scene for 20 years. Since their 1st LP 'Swagger', the band have released 6 albums, the latest of which 'Anthem' sees them reunite with legendary sound engineer Steve Albini, who has been at the helm of their recordings since 2000. The specialist press are calling Anthem a "slaughterhouse", or an album that "more than satisfies the expectations of fans of these Celtic-inspired punks", who have also released a highly acclaimed video for A Song of Liberty, an echo of oppression around the world and events in Ukraine.
Recent concerts have taken Flogging Molly back to historic live venues, including Nashville's Ryman Auditorium, Austin City Limits Music Festival, Rock Am Ring, Rock Im Park, Slam Dunk and the Hollywood Palladium for St Patrick's Day. The band, who recently announced Shamrock Rebellion, their own St Patrick's Day festival in California, will be on stage at Le Bataclan in Paris on 27 August 2024.
