Whether they are joyful laments or festive dances, Ladaniva's songs contain an obvious force. On 27 April 2024, the duo from Lille, made up of singer Jaklin Baghdasaryan and instrumentalist Louis Thomas, will be at Le Bataclan to take you on a quasi-mystical journey between Armenia, Arabic scales, learned jazz and electronic sounds. After setting the Café de la Danse alight in 2021 and then the Cigale in 2023, Ladaniva returns to Paris to present her first album, released in September 2023!
Their music is rich, joyful and travelled, reinventing what is too narrowly called Balkan folklore, and energising - if not dynamiting - the Anglo-Saxon pop format. This is the secret of Ladaniva's music, which can also be summed up in an unlikely meeting one evening, when two stars decided to link their musical paths: Jaklin and Louis.
