Lake Street Dive is back with a colourful tour and a new album, Good Together, a mix of soul, pop, groove and jazz. The American band, renowned for their on-stage complicity and infectious energy, promise a warm and vibrant concert at Le Bataclan. It's the perfect opportunity to (re)discover their music, which is as danceable as it is committed!
Lake Street Dive have pushed the boundaries of pop, turning it into a unifying force. Their eclectic sound — a bold and utterly original blend of soul, folk, jazz, classic pop and much more — is paired with a spirit of openness that has made them a much-loved live act, renowned for forging a genuine connection with every audience. For their GRAMMY-nominated album *Good Together*, Rachael Price (vocals), Bridget Kearney (bass/backing vocals), Mike Calabrese (drums/backing vocals), Akie Bermiss (keyboards/vocals) and James Cornelison (guitar/backing vocals) have further deepened the meaning they imbue in their music. They frequently tackle the issues that divide us today — unchecked technological growth, cultural isolation, an obsession with self-optimisation… The result of a mindset they call their ‘joyful rebellion’, *Good Together* is an album that is both resolutely assertive and tailor-made to provoke instinctive dancing and enthusiastic singing.
Following on from *Obviously* (2021), *Good Together* sees the band reunite with Grammy-winning producer Mike Elizondo (Fiona Apple, Sheryl Crow, Gary Clark Jr.). With a soundscape ranging from R&B to funk via Brazilian pop, the album opens with its title track: a unique love song celebrating the joy of following your heart and defying expectations.Next comes “Dance with a Stranger”, where Lake Street Dive once again demonstrate their talent for creating feel-good tracks with an uplifting message, capable of both sparking carefree euphoria and gently inviting empathy. The deeply liberating “Walking Uphill” offers an intense reflection on the work required to rebuild oneself, whilst “Seats at the Bar” reimagines the classic love song with a playful twist.?As for “Twenty-Five”, Price delivers a stripped-back and magnificent ballad, imbued with the tenderness of a past love.
Throughout *Good Together*, Lake Street Dive draw on the palpable bond that has united them since their early days, creating their most collaborative, expansive and joyfully exuberant work to date.
