The Psychedelic Furs may not have invented rock'n'roll per se, but their influence, since their appearance on the devastated post-punk landscape four decades ago, still resonates with all those who cherish that raw yet romantic zone where intensity and emotion meet.
Emerging from the British post-punk scene and led by singer-songwriter Richard Butler, accompanied by his brother Tim on bass, the Furs quickly established themselves as one of the leading bands on university and alternative radio, with a string of major hits including "Love My Way", "Pretty In Pink", "Heaven", "The Ghost In You" and "Heartbreak Beat". They released a total of eight studio albums, several compilations, a box set, a concert DVD and inspired one of the most iconic film soundtracks of all time.
Almost thirty years on, their latest album 'Made Of Rain' has charted in many countries and became the second highest charting Furs album in the UK. It featured prominently in end-of-year 'best albums' lists in dozens of publications around the world. But it is above all on stage that the Furs shine, having headlined the famous Glastonbury Festival in the UK, and more recently prestigious venues such as the Hollywood Bowl, London's Royal Albert Hall and New York's Radio City Music Hall, among others.
With a dazzling live show, they continue to tour regularly around the world. The current touring line-up of the Psychedelic Furs includes: Richard Butler (vocals), Tim Butler (bass), Rich Good (guitar), Amanda Kramer (keyboards) and Zachary Alford (drums).
