Northlane are an award-winning, chart-topping metal band from Sydney, Australia. Through fearless evolution and unparalleled innovation, Northlane have become the vanguard of heavy music worldwide, entirely on their own terms. The band has released six acclaimed albums, including 'Obsidian' (2022) and 'Node' (2015), which debuted at No. 1 in the ARIA charts, as well as 'Singularity' (2013), 'Mesmer' (2017) and 'Alien' (2019), all of which debuted at No. 3. Northlane has also won three consecutive ARIA Awards for Best Hard Rock or Heavy Metal Album, as well as two AIR Awards for Best Independent Heavy Metal Album.
Whitechapel, which formed in Knoxville, Tennessee, in 2006, has seen its core line-up - vocalist Phill Bozeman, guitarists Ben Savage, Zach Householder and Alex Wade, and bassist Gabe Crisp - remain intact since 2007, with the exception of drummer Brandon Zackey, who has been with the band since 2022. Their ninth album, 'Hymns in Dissonance', was released on 7 March. Whitechapel began writing this new album in the Householder studio in June 2023, following the band's headline tour for their album 'The Valley'. Whitechapel stuck to a strict weekly schedule, with the structure helping to maximise creativity and minimise burnout. Householder produced Hymns in Dissonance, allowing the musicians to move smoothly from pre-production to recording the full album without wasting time.
